LOCATION:

I am based at 'The SoundWorks' in Southville (BS3 1NW) and occasionally Cotham (BS6 5TN).

  • 'The SoundWorks' is very special new centre for creativity with a strong interest in singing.  It is in the Southville Methodist Church/FaithSpace building, which has been transformed into a haven for Bristol arts practitioners and all things creative.  Though the official address is Stackpool Road, The SoundWorks uses the side entrance on Beauley Road, right next door to The Southville Centre, overlooking car park.  Look for the black railings and a blue fire door.

On foot from the city centre

From the cascade waterfall at the centre, follow the left bank of the docks past the Arnolfini Arts Centre to the swing bridge on Wapping Road. Cross the bridge and follow the road to a mini roundabout beside the Louisiana Pub. Turn right and follow the road alongside the New Cut of the Avon River to the traffic lights and cross over the pedestrian bridge (Gaol Ferry Bridge). Cross at the traffic lights and continue into Dean Lane, almost directly opposite you. Take the first right into Stackpool Road, continue past Southville Primary School and take a right into Beauley Road. The Soundworks is on your right at the top of the road.

On foot from Bristol Temple Meads train station

Come out of Temple Meads and turn right, cross the road at the pedestrian crossing, walk straight up the road, past a hotel on your left, cross over the road, St Mary Redcliffe Church will be on your left and there will be a car park on your right, follow the pavement around the car park, pass the roundabout on your left and cross at the zebra crossing before you get to the bridge, don’t cross over the bridge you need to turn left just before it into a marina and turn left, follow the river around until you get to the Ostrich pub, at the pub you will see a small pedestrian bridge on your right hand side, cross over that and turn left, (you will have boats on your left and houses on your right), when you get to the road there will be another pub called the Louisiana on your right, cross the road at the roundabout and go straight on, the river should now be on your left, walk along by the river until you reach another pedestrian bridge(Gaol Ferry Bridge) on your left, cross over that bridge and then cross over the road in front of you, turn right and take the next left onto Dean Lane and the next right onto Stackpool road, continue up Stackpool road, you will pass Southville Primary School on your left and a church on your right, take the next right onto Beauley road and The Soundworks is on your right at the top of the road.
